Det första steget..

Efter många år av planering börjar det snart bli dags att kasta loss. Någon båt har vi fortfarande inte men vi har hittat några intressanta objekt nere i Spanien. Om några veckor är det dags att åka ner och inspektera en Jeanneau 37 från 2001 som borde kunna ta oss runt medelhavet under de närmaste åren.

Vägen hit har varit lång. Först att spara pengar, sluta jobba, avveckla firman, hyra ut huset, skaffa sig kunskap och erfarenhet om båt och navigation, ta hand om alla räkningar mm. Men det svåraste har varit att förbereda våra två katter Patsy och Jackie på de omställningar som väntar.

Afte many years of planning it is soon time to get into action. We do not have boat yet but we have found some interesting objects down in Spain. In a few weeks it is time to drive down and inspect a Jeanneu 37 from 2001 that probably could take us around the mediterranean the next few years.

It has been a long way to get here. First save money, stop working, quit the company, rent the house, to get knowledge and experience of navigation, take care of bills etc. But the most difficult thing has been to prepare our two cats Patsy and Jackie for the changes that will come.

Vasa Maritime Museum


All snö har smält bort från isen så jag tog en provtur med mina nyinköpta långfärdsskridskor. Underlaget var inte så jämt som det såg ut att vara så det blev en kort tur till Vasa sjöfartsmuseum. Framför de gamla magasinen låg den här båten fastfrusen i isen.

All snow has melted away from the ice so I tried out my new long-distance skates. The surface was not really as plain as it looked so I just made a short trip to the Vasa maritime museum. In front of the old storage building I found this boat that have been ice-bound.

Portugal 2010


Efter ett besök på Martins Facebooksidor hittade jag en karta över den rutt som vi seglade med s/y Constancia våren 2010. Vi startade i Faro, Portugal och seglade norrut längs kusten. Mest spännande var att korsa Biscayabukten. Vi la ut från Camarinos i Galicien och efter 4 dagar på öppna havet tog vi iland i den lilla fiskebyn Camaret i Bretagne. Sedan fortsatte seglatsen genom Engelska kanalen till Holland och därifrån via Kielkanalen in i Östersjön. På kartan etappen från Faro till Brest.

When visiting Martins Facebookpages I found a map of the route we sailed with s/y Constancia in the spring of 2010. We started in Faro, Portugal and then sailed north along the coast. Most exciting was crossing the bay of Biscay. We left from Camarinos, Galicia and after 4 days at open sea we arrived in the tiny fishing village of Camaret in Brittany.  We then continued sailing trough the English channel to Holland and then on though the Kiel canal into the Baltic sea. The map shows our route from Faro to Brest.
