Katakolon

Tro det eller ej, men sista natten i Port Zakyntos kostade endast 5 euro. Detta trots att hamnpolisen hade förra kvittot bredvid då han skrev ut nya räkningen. Skulle vara intressant att veta hur de räknar. I dag hade vi fin segling över till Katakolon på Peloponnesien. Vi har ankrat och startar säkert tidigt då vi har en lång etapp till Pilos i morgon.

Believe it or not, but the last night in Port Zakyntos was only 5 euros. Even if the port police had our last reciete next to him when he wrote us the new bill. It would be interesting to know how they count. Today we had good sailing to Katakolon in Peloponnesia. We have anchored and will probably start early because we have a long leg to Pilos tomorrow.

Port Zakyntos

Farsen med vår transit log fortsätter. Vi sökte upp hamnkontoret och fick beskedet att blanketterna är slut här också. Däremot passade man på att upplysa om att ankring är förbjuden i hamnen och att vi måste lägga till vid kajen. Priset för detta var 9,20 euros. När vi flyttat båten kom en gubbe och ville ha betalt 25 euro för kajplatsen. Efter ett visst diskuterande och uppvisande av kvitto insåg han att vi inte tänkte betala en gång till och lommade i väg. Port Zakyntos är en väldigt livlig hamn så vi seglar förmodligen vidare snart.

We still have problems with our transit log. We went to the harbour office and we were told that they were out of forms here too. They also told us that we are not allowed to anchor in the harbour and that we had to move to the town quai. For this they charged 9,20 euros. When we moved our boat a man showed up and wanted 25 euro for the place. After some discussion and after we showed him our reciept he realized that we were not going to pay twice and he went away. Port Zakyntos is a very busy harbour and we probably move on soon.

Ay Nikolaos

Hamnpolisen hade slut på blanketter så vi har fortfarande ingen transit log. Vi åkte trots det vidare till Zakyntos. Här passade vi på att fylla på bränsle och vatten. Vattnet skulle vara gratis, men när man fyllt på ca 100 liter från en tankbil meddelade chauffören att han ville ha 10 euro per båt för gratisvattnet. Han fick 5 euro och såg lika glad ut för det. Diesel skulle kosta 1,52 euro, men då vi betalat kollade jag säkerhets skull priset och det visade sig att vi betalat 1,55. Hamnplatsen kostade i vart fall inget, men hade vi stannat kvar lite längre hade det säkert dykt upp någon som velat ha betalt för det också.

The port police were out of forms so we still have no transit log. We went on to Zakyntos. Here we took the opportunity to fill up diesel and water. The water was supposed to be free, but when we filled up about 100 litres from a water-truck the driver wanted 10 euros per boat for the free water. We paid 5 euro and he looked happy about that. Diesel was supposed to be 1,52 euro, but after we paid I checked the price and it was 1,55. The place in the harbour was free of charge, but if we would have stayed long enough I´m sure that somebody would have showed up to ask money for it.

Argostoli

Vi är nu i Argostoli, huvudort på Kefalonien och port of entry. Jag har besökt hamnpolisen och berättat att vi kommit hit från Italien. Det är sant, jag "glömde" bara att nämna att vi seglat omkring här i mer än en månad sedan dess. Vi ska nu få vår transit logg så fort vi betalat 30 euro till skattekontoret.

We are in Argostoli, capital of Kefalonia and port of entry. I have visited the harbour police and told them that we came here from Italy. This is true, I only "forgot" to mention that we sailed around here for more than one month since that. We will recive our transit log as soon as we have paid 30 euros to the local tax office.

Kato Katelios

Vi ankrade på Kefalonias södra udde och väntade ut en ovanligt stark eftermiddagsbris. På kvällen blev det en simmtur innan vi tog jollen ut till grannbåten för att höra vad vi kunde göra åt problemet med den saknade transit loggen. Grannarna var ett trevligt äldre svenskt par som seglat 6 år i medelhavet men som nu är på väg tillbaka till Sverige. Efter några glas vin i fullmånens sken och med vacker utsikt över Zakyntos börjar en plan ta form..

We anchored at the south of Kefalonia and waited for a unusually strong afternoon breeze to pass. We took an evening swim before we went by dingy to the neighbours boat to ask for advise what to do about the missing transit log. The neighbours were a nice older swedish couple that had sailed 6 years in the meditterranean but now they are on their way back to Sweden. After a few glasses of wine under the full moon and with a breathtakeing view over Zakyntos we have a plan..

Sami

Efter några lata dagar åkte vi vidare till näraliggande Sami. Här hyrde vi moped och åkte runt för att titta på olika sevärdheter bland annat en underjordisk sjö i Melissani grottan och den vackra stranden Antisamos. På kvällen dök port police upp och ville se vår transit log. Att man kräver detta dokument strider troligtvis mot EU reglerna om fri rörlighet men fortsättningsvis finns detta otyg kvar i Grekland. Då vi inte hade något sådant dokument bestämde vi oss för att segla vidare innan myndigheterna vaknat nästa morgon. Problemet löst på grekiskt vis!

After a few lazy days we went on to the next port Sami. We rented a scooter and drove around and did some sightseeing. We visited the underground lake in the Melissani cave and the beautiful beach of Antisamos. In the evening the port police showed up and wanted to see our transit log. To demand this document is probably against the EU laws of free movement of people but still this obsticle exists in Greece. Because we did not have the document we decided to sail on before the authoreties woke up. Problem solved greek style!

Ay Eufimia

Vi är på Kefalonien. Vi har tagit i land vid stadskajen på Ay Eufimia och väntar på att hårda vindar ska blåsa förbi. Under tiden ska vi försöka se oss omkring på ön som kanske är mest känd för att filmen "Kapten Corellis mandolin" har spelats in här. Tydligen har också supermodellen Kate Moss varit här på smekmånad tidigare i sommar. Men så varmt som det är nu ska det bli mest upphetsande att avnjuta en kall stor öl på närmaste taverna i hamnen.

We are on Kefalonia. We are moored at the town quai at Ay Eufimia and we are waiting for some strong winds to pass. Meanwhile we intend to look around the island that perhaps is most known because the movie "Captain Corellis mandolin" was recorded here. We also lerned that supermodel Kate Moss was here on honeymoon earlier this summer. But because of the heat, the most exiteing thing will be enjoing a big cold beer at the closest taverna.
